Granfalloon is the musical project of Manchester based artist and producer Richard Lomax. Lomax makes a hybrid of lo-fi folk, experimental music, and electronica - weaving oddball elements, such as Omnichords, acoustic guitars, and vintage drum loops, into dreamy songs and cinematic soundscapes. Granfalloon's second album entitled RGB (or Red Green Blue) was released in 2019 on streaming services, and 12" vinyl. Singles from the album, The Elephant, Lysistrata + Broken Things all premiered on BBC Introducing and a fourth, EGO received airplay from Tom Robinson on 6Music. The band played The Orbit Stage at Bluedot Festival. Most recently, in April 2020, Lomax co-founded the Positive Songs Project, a large online songwriting community which focuses on creative techniques and encouraging collaboration between artists. The project has been responsible for the penning of over 300 songs and counting by songwriters from here to Helsinki, LA, Guadalajara and beyond! Lomax is currently preparing the Granfalloon songs from these sessions for an album release in 2021.

Lomax plays with a band of collaborators but also performs solo utilising loops, guitar and Omnichord as evidenced in a live version of Lysistrata here and on Shell Zenner's Zessions show here.

In 2017 Granfalloon released debut album, Down There For Dancing. Blogsite Listen With Monger said "...a delicately poised sliver of indie that exists between the darkest of hours and the breaking of the dawn. Lomax’s rich, deep vocal croons over a melody that I would gladly be awoken by every day while a beat stutters in the background. Lomax is one of those artists that will persistently and consistently produce music of excellent quality without compromising for the benefit of mass appeal. This is art (without wanting to sound pretentious) and art sounds good in 2017."

2018 single, Broken Things, picked up tremendous support from BBC Introducing in Manchester and they have also been named Artist Of The Week for Richer Sounds and Qthemusic. In 2018, Granfalloon toured the UK, Germany, Belgium, France, and Italy. Previously Lomax has played shows with We Are Scientists, Frightened Rabbit, Cass McCombs, Malcolm Middleton, Emma Pollock, Siobhan Wilson, The Burning Hell, and The Wave Pictures.
