“You make hundreds of plans/You draw them out by hand… you’ll do them later.”
Do you know this feeling?
Back at the very start of the Calendar project I asked you, fans and friends, for song topics to write about. One cheeky wag suggested this...
'The slippery eel of discontent'.

Not 'the slippery eel of contentment'... which (aside from being grammatically correct) could potentially be a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of happiness and how hard it is to define and hold onto... no... their suggestion was 'the slippery eel of discontent'.
To this day, I'm none the wiser.
I even got in touch with them to ask what they meant.
They tell me they have no idea. If they ever did, they've long since forgotten what it was.
Such is the nature of ideas and inspiration eh? If you don't nail it down it can flop right out of your hands.
To me, maybe it's about how everything in life slips away. Things we think are 100% real, cast iron certainties are in actuality mere whisps... Klatchian mists as it were, that can evaporate at any moment.
“You build houses and streets/Whole cities out of bricks/but they are paper.”
